Bitumen sprayer

Precision spraying technology for all requirements

The 2-in-1 bitumen sprayer

The rental solution for maximum flexibility

With our bitumen sprayer, we offer you a high-performance solution for professional use in road construction. The combination of large-area binder application via the spray ramp and precise joint and edge sealing using the edge spray bar ensures the highest precision and maximum efficiency.

The bitumen sprayer can be individually adapted to different site requirements. Thanks to its modular design and digital control system, it is suitable both for large-scale use on motorways and main roads and for targeted applications in confined construction areas.

Instead of high investment costs, you benefit from a flexible rental model. This allows you to utilise state-of-the-art technology without tying up your own capital, whilst also receiving service, maintenance and advice from Wilhelm Schütz GmbH & Co. KG.

Technical details & features

Edge spray bar

Joint sealing

During the laying of asphalt, longitudinal and transverse joints are formed which, due to lower compaction, are susceptible to water ingress. Sealing the edges with hot bitumen reduces the void content and ensures a permanent bond with the adjacent course.

Edge sealing

To protect asphalt surfaces from water penetrating from the sides, the edges of the carriageway are bevelled and smoothed. The surface is then sealed with hot bitumen using precision ramp sprayers.

Layer bonding

The functionality and durability of asphalt pavements depend on a strong bond between the base, binder and surface courses. This interlayer bond is achieved through the interlocking of the rough contact surfaces and the application of a thin film of bitumen emulsion. In this way, the adjacent layers are permanently bonded while also being protected against water ingress. A clean and dry substrate is a prerequisite. The bitumen emulsion is applied using modern bitumen distributors equipped with a spray bar, ensuring a

Frequently Asked Questions

A spray truck is used for the precise application of bitumen emulsion or hot bitumen in road construction. It is used for layer bonding as well as joint and edge sealing to increase the durability of asphalt surfaces.

The spray truck is suitable for both large-scale applications (e.g. highways and major roads) and precise work in confined construction areas.

The vehicle combines two systems: the spray bar for large-area binder application and the edge spray bar for precise joint and edge sealing. This allows multiple work steps to be carried out with a single machine.

  • Spray bar: up to 4.80 m
  • Edge spray bar: 4 cm to 25 cm
  • Bitumen emulsion (up to 4,000 liters tank capacity)
  • Hot bitumen (up to 500 kg)

A consistent and precisely dosed spray pattern is achieved through sensor-controlled dosing and digital control systems.
